Mixed Plate Friday

Fort Street Cafe Pad Thai with Garlic Chicken | $12.45

We did a lunch order in Downtown recently, this wasn’t my dish but man oh man I got to eat a piece of the garlic chicken. They still do it so well. I think the pad thai is a bit sweeter than most, maybe I would just go for the garlic chicken.

Wowsers. I was at Windward Mall and decided to try a beef corndog. This was pricey, I think it came out to about 12 bucks for the hot dog and drink combined but boy oh boy was it good. A freshly fried corndog, I haven’t had that in eons. It was so good. Worth it!

Fukuya Nori Chicken and Cone Sushi

No prices on this because I got to eat it for free! I haven’t had Fukuya in a long time, nori chicken is good as always and the cone sushi is bumboocha! Nori chicken is so good, always worth it to buy outside because prepping and frying this on your own is a major pain.

I can’t remember how long ago I ordered from Ft St Cafe. Maybe I’ll take a walk up there.
Also, Can’t remember when I went to Fukuya’s…over 2 years ago but then, been to a lot of funerals that had bento from Fukuya past several years.
Isn’t there a Korean corn dog place in Ala Moana? I was buying the frozen kind from HMart or Palama but been meaning to try the fresh one. Also haven’t been walking around AMC much past few years too since COVID with weird hours, etc., just directly to store I want.

All the places in this post are places I don’t usually go cause of the parking or lack thereof! Yup there a Korean dog place in the food court, it’s alright. They coat it in sugar which I don’t love. I just want em plain! I guess you could tell them that.

It took me too long to figure out what AMC was lol. Covid changed the opening and closing times of so many things. I really wish Walmart was still 24 hours.

  2. Fort Street Mall? Hmmm. I take weaving classes at the Downtown Art Center – maybe I need to go check out Fort Street Cafe for lunch soon. Fukuya’s is always busy and the parking is packed but it is on my way to the Hawaii Potter’s Guild. Ono food, for sure.

    Great reviews, mahalo!
