Costco: Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portobello Mushroom Sauce

I saw this package at Costco a few months ago and was intrigued. You know what I loved even more than the 8 minutes in a microwave thing? They provide the microwaveable bowl! No dishes? My lazy soul has been sold. I was scrolling through the many pictures I have yet to upload and happened upon this one and thought the timing was perfect because it’s going on sale at Costco this week (Thursday to be exact).

Here are the contents, ready to go! In the provided microwaveable bowl.

Fresh pasta!

Portobello Mushroom Sauce

Sliced Chicken Breast

Finished product! Nothing like a dump and heat up dish. How was it? I would have loved a bit more pasta because there is a LOT of chicken meat! Overall I thought it was pretty good. I don’t remember how much I paid but it’s going to be $3 off with the new coupon book so give it a try! Let me know how you like it. 😀

I now don’t have COSTCO but Groupon has an offer that’s really good now and I am debating. When I had COSTCO I only bought their chicken but then parking is such a hassle all the time and I’m retired so can go any time and any time it’s always a hassle. Then cuz of my health I gotta use their scooter but sometimes no moe. It became such a hassle and I really don’t need or want the volume since it’s only for me. Your chicken review is making me re-think whether it’s gonna be worth it. It’s not that convenient to get to it either. Hhhhmmm. -N

Oh N, I agree. Iwilei is so nuts. I would recommend Hawaii Kai but it’s a bit further out. I usually try to go Costco nearer to closing time so at least I can get parking and it’s not too crazy busy. Been pretty okay at night. That groupon deal is right on and thanks for sharing it, I shared it with my coworker who is contemplating a membership as well. In the end, the deals are too much for me to miss…and the gas! Let me know what you plan to do. And what about your beets? lol.

Costco at least in Michigan where retired people or health care folks can enter the store an hour early. I’m in Healthcare so I’ve been going weekly early and the parking lot and store are nearly empty!!

  2. Looks good – AND easy! I’m going to get this, thanks!!!!

Do you think this could be frozen? We grabbed one yesterday and it was good. Baby #3 is due soon and it would be nice to put a couple in the freezer for days that dinner just needs to be really easy! 🙂

    • Jenny

Great question Sarah! I would only freeze it if I already cooked it…I wouldn’t throw the whole package pre-cooked into the freezer myself. I also didn’t see anything on the package that says freeze by…which leads me to believe that it shouldn’t be? But omg! Baby #3! You are going to have your hands full! Best wishes on a safe delivery.

It freezes beautifully. Just defrost the sauce in warm water and then cook the pasta in it. Heat the chicken separate so it doesn’t get over cooked.

My husband automatically put this in the freezer. I just thawed it out, so we’ll find out if freezing works or not. I’ll get back & let you know.

After being frozen & thawed, it worked for us & was very good!!

Can I put my leftovers back into the black dish it came in and reheat it in my regular oven…or just in the microwave?

  8. Faith Anne

I don’t have a microwave, do you think I could transfer to an oven safe dish and go from there?

    Thank you,
    Faith Anne

Aloha Faith Anne – for me, I think I would just go the stove top route without a microwave. The sauce and chicken are basically fully cooked, you just have to mix them with the pasta and cook the pasta through. I would probably cook it in a pot, covered on medium-high heat until the pasta is cooked to your liking. Oven is definitely work-able but I wouldn’t know what temp or how long to suggest…hope this helps!

So I know this entry is super old, but I just bought this and got home to realize that it only has microwaveable instructions, and I don’t have a microwave lol.

Your advice about cooking it in a pot on the stove top was spot on.

Just wanted to say thanks, because I was googling furiously trying to find a way to way it haha. (I’m not kitchen savvy)

        • Jenny

Hi Jm! Thanks so much for commenting even though this entry is a bit older! I was wondering if stovetop would work and you just answered my question! Glad it worked for you!

  9. I just made a video on this very pasta as my first youtube video! Crazy thing is.. my name is Jenny too! Ahahah. Great blog btw 😀

I just tried it and had a different experience, the mushroom sauce wis, well clumpy and reminded me of a bad experience, to the point of girding my reflex muscles.

The taste was OK, a little too salty, but overall, I won’t be purchasing it again.

This was the worst pasta I ever ate. Costco will give me my money back but not the time and effort. The chicken had a massive aftertaste. I tried adding Onion, garlic and herbs but no go. Had to toss it. I am writing for the next poor soul who gets dragged on by the picture.

This was sold at Costco refrigerated, not frozen. There does not appear to be a Use By date. How long will it keep in the refrigerator?

  13. Joann Andersen

I would love to know how the macros for this meal changes if you leave out the pasta. I wouldn’t mind just having the chicken and the mushroom sauce.

  14. MJ

This was excellent waited for two meals just the two of us.

  15. Anne mroz

Costco deleted it from their inventory. I loved it. Where else can I buy it

  16. Jessica S.

I found it at Costco today in Indianapolis.

  17. Harriet

Where to buy it…Costco doesn’t have it at this time

  18. Stacy Prior

so if you froze it by accident and than defrost should you cook it for the same nine mins?
