Mixed Plate Friday

Just wanted for be fancy…

Yummy soft tofu slathered in goma dressing and chili oil. Delicious!

Vegetable Board | $15.00

Grilled Marinated Vegetables, Quinoa, Avocado, House Pickled Vegetables, Roasted Beets, Grilled Asparagus

I had this over the summer for dinner at Tango Contemporary Cafe. I enjoyed it a lot! But gosh, was I eating healthy or what?

Lunch Bento | $10.00
marinated boneless short ribs, wing dings, kielbasa sausage, shumai, taegu, takuan, fishcake & kimchee

We ordered bentos from Taka’s Box Lunch for an office retreat and I thought the price was pretty good! I was trying to call them all day on a Friday and sent them a message on Instagram with no response. It was a bit frustrating but I finally got a hold of someone on Monday morning and was able to put my order in. I heard they are pretty busy on Fridays so I understand. The orders all worked out and I thought it was pretty good. I like laugh at wing dings and ribs – the “s” makes it sound like you get more than one. You don’t. It’s okay, still worth it.

What I love about all you guys, is introducing me to all kind places I never knew existed! Also dishes that I would love to try. Never knew about this vegetable board, but haven’t been to Tango in years!

I looking at everyone’s food posts and it just makes me hungry and probably continue to gain weight because we only live once and I just want to eat delicious food. LOL. But yes, Tango’s vegetables are so good. You really gotta try it!

I love putting the taberu rayu (chili crisp) onto cold tofu. ooh, new bento place!

I think putting the goma dressing and rayu would make me eat so much more tofu. It’s kind of dangerous. This bento place is…not easy to get to. Mapunapuna industrial side! But gotta support local!

Oooh, my head is exploding over your tofu dish. It looks sooo good. When I did a take out order from Tango, a bit of pickled cauliflower & carrots came as a side & they were deliciously different! I like eating veggie dishes at restaurants because chefs can be very creative with them. I feel so virtuous eating them too, haha.

It’s also so good in this hot weather, just a delicious cold savory dish! Making me want to eat it again. Do share any other great veggie recommendations you might have! I love veggies too!!!

  5. I want to try Taka’s. One of these days for sure. Thanks for the review!
