A nice find for a quiet dinner on our second night. Was craving some Korean food and happened upon Tang (not to be mistaken with Tang Tang Tang). Boy am I happy we found this place, this ended up being one of my favorite meals of the trip and some of the best Soondae guk I’ve ever had! I am definitely coming back here in August when I go up to Vegas with Chan. Yup, I’m going back to Vegas lol.
Generous Ban Chan
Lovely assortment of banchan, what do I judge hardest on? The kimchee. Their kimchee? Delicious. SO good! I asked for seconds for the kimchee alone – we all loved it!
Haemul Pajeon | $20.99
seafood & green onion pancake
So good! Seasoned really nicely with some nice chunks of seafood. Yum! Would get this again!!
Matbogi Bossam | $26.99
mini size steamed pork belly platter
So glad restaurants now serve up mini portions of this dish, a full portion is too much! This was perfect for the group. The bossam was good, but not super great. Perhaps I was already getting full from the pancake and was anticipating my entree! I liked that the pork belly was a good balance of lean meat to fat.
Mul Naengmyeon | $16.99
buckwheat noodles in cold broth w/brisket, radish & egg
Wang Donkkaseu | $20.99
pork cutlet w/cabbage salad & rice
Mandu Guk | $18.99
Add Glass Noodles | $2.00
pork and vegetable dumplings in beef broth
I don’t know if you can tell by the picture but these mandu were HUGE. Like fist size, our friend could not finish this on her own. I think she had maybe one mandu and it was already filling!
Gamja Tang | $19.99
pork neck bone soup with potatoes and veggies
Not my soup but doesn’t that look so hearty and filling? I was reading a yelp review on this soup and laughed because the reviewer was upset that she got served bones. Hello, it’s pork neck bone soup. My friend who got this said the bones had choke meat and I can see that in this photo too. It looks good!!
Spicy Soondae Guk | $18.99
spicy pork bone broth with blood sausage & heart, stomach
You know me and you know I’m going to get the blood sausage soup. So so good. It was so deep in flavor, she gave me perilla powder to use on top too. I loved this soup, every drop of it. Can’t wait to return! The front of the house was a sweet older Korean lady. Into the meal, an older Korean man came out and looked out at the diners maybe to see if they were enjoying? He then also started clearing out tables. I only saw those two workers and felt like it was a nice mom and pop shop. They served watermelon after the meal too!
