Japan 2015 Day 8: Kyoto

Day trip to Kyoto! We had to make good use of our JR passes so we planned a day trip to Kyoto. We originally were planning to go to Osaka to check out Universal Studios but I was a bit theme parked out so now I have a good excuse to visit Osaka during my next visit. The JR pass allows you to purchase passes on the Hikari. Our train was at 7:15 am so we had to be up pretty early since we also had to take the train to the Shinagawa station to take the Kyoto train as well.

150802-01Bright and early in our neighborhood…heading to the station. Crows still cawing away.

150802-02View from my train seat. Lots of business men on the train headed for work, I felt a bit bad for them having to commute for hours each day to and from work.

150802-03

150802-04I’m still going to do a separate food post for Kyoto but the bento pictures should go with the train rides! I went with a Chinese bento (of course I did) and it was delicious! It would have been better warmed up but I didn’t have that option. I’m kind of surprised they sell it cold.

150802-05Check this shot out! I’m so lucky. I was watching the other side in envy because they had the window closest to Mount Fuji. Then suddenly, I saw that I had my chance and took the picture. Magnificent…

150802-06

150802-07

150802-09

150802-10Fushimi Inari Shrine – this is a shrine that’s famous for it’s path lined with hundreds of traditional gates. It’s so beautiful. We didn’t make it to the top. Can you tell by this last picture how many people there were? It was madness. There were also a lot of selfie sticks which I really didn’t appreciate, they would just stop suddenly in the middle of the path, swing out that stick and start taking pictures. The path is crowded enough! And gosh, there were so MANY Chinese tourists! Their loud yelling kind of took away from the quiet environment.

150802-08Before you enter the shrine, there is a long street filled with different gift shops and food stands. That was fun and neat to check out. Here’s a picture between the street shops, it was pretty neat.

150802-11

We headed to Nishiki Market after we finished at the Shrine. I’m sharing more of that tomorrow since it’s mainly food…lol. I didn’t take as much pictures as I wanted. I believe this is the Kyoto Tower. I got a shot of it as we walked back to Kyoto Station.

150802-12I wish I took pictures of the mochi I bought! I love Kyoto mochi. It looks like a won ton pi mochi folded over the filling. The mochi is kind of thin so you can see the filling. It’s delicious. I love the black sesame flavor. Check out this blog, she took a picture of the mochi I’m talking about!

 150802-13

150802-14Dinner Bentos for the train ride back to Tokyo. Tasted good! Kind of funny that both our full meals were train station bentos. Hmm…food post coming soon!

Recipe: Beef Ddukgalbi

Happy August! Things are moving slowly but surely along…my kitchen has finally progressed and I just purchased a fridge from Lowe’s. Oh gosh, things were stagnant for so long that I almost no can believe I’m going to have a kitchen soon. Life has been busy busy busy and I’m too old to bounce back like I used to. I had to work an extra day last week for a training and I swear, I spent all week recovering. I woke up today at 7:14 am and felt ecstatic because that for me is sleeping in. It’s going to be a good day!

Anyhow, today I am sharing an awesome recipe with you folks. I got it from Foodland but I’ll post my slightly tweaked recipe. The bosc pears add a great crunch, moistness and sweetness to the beef patties. I’ve made it both in the meat jun style and the non-meat jun style and I must recommend the meat jun style. It just tastes so much better that way!

150801-01Here they are after cooking. Sorry some parts look a bit black, it’s not burnt but I made a huge batch and didn’t realize how black the oil gets and so quick!

150801-02Meat jun style is so easy! Quick flip in the flour and then…

150801-03Throw it into some beaten eggs (do not add water to the eggs) and off to the pan!

150801-05

150801-06Hard to hold the camera and the beef patty straight…but look at this thing! Delicious! And no need dipping sauce.

150801-07Had to include a picture of the patties on top of my famous kimchee fried rice. Who says it’s famous? Only me.

Mini Beef Ddukgalbi
Recipe Source: Foodland

Ingredients
1 Pound Ground Beef, 80/20 mix
2 Tablespoon shoyu
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 Tablespoon garlic, minced
1⁄2 each Asian or bosc pear, minced (I don’t mince it too small because I like the small chunks when I bite in)
1⁄2 each small onion, minced
1 1⁄2 Teaspoon sesame oil
1 stalk green onion, sliced
1⁄4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 1⁄2 Teaspoon Korean rice wine or sake
1 1⁄2 Teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Meat Jun Style:
1⁄4 Cup flour
2 each eggs, whisked

Canola oil as needed

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except the oil, flour and eggs. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavor to develop (overnight okay).

For the mixture into little 1 inch patties – recipe yields about 24 mini patties.

Heat a grill or a skillet to medium high heat. Add in a thin layer of oil and fry until done. Be careful to watch them as the sugar will make them prone to burning.

Meat Jun Variation: Take the patties and lightly dredge in flour and then dip into the whisked egg. Fry in a pan to make a meat jun version.

Serve with rice and assorted panchan (Korean sides like kimchee, pickled garlic, and cucumber.)

Note: This recipe is different from the Foodland one I linked above…use whichever one you want! 🙂

Menya Musashi – Ala Moana, HI

I come to you with my head bowed down to apologize for the lack of posting. Here I naively thought work would slow down during the summer but this has been the busiest summer yet. I’ve had time to myself for about a month and it has been great. I’ve been resting and eating well, too well. I’ve got a whole bunch of pictures ready for blogging. Last weekend, I had an opportunity to cook for the Ronald McDonald House and it was a great experience. Stressful and hard work and took place in a hot kitchen during the hottest day of the summer but it was all worth it. What a great experience for a great cause.

I hope you all have been doing great! Plenty ramen shops popping open folks. Menya Musashi is the newest one of the bunch. When they had a soft opening, it was by invite only. That peaked my interest already so when I finally got to try them out this past week, I was expecting a lot. Maybe too much for a brand new restaurant. The vibe in the restaurant was a bit weird, my waitress was nice but didn’t seem to fit in with the other staff. Perhaps she was new and still training? By the way, they still don’t have gyoza. Their menu? SO MANY CHOICES. I’m hoping they get into their groove soon, I liked my food but not enough to go again anytime soon. I’ll give them a few months.

150718-01

150718-02By the way, have I shared that they have no parking? There are a few stalls in front but they share it with a store and Nanzan Giro Giro (which I still really really want to try!). We didn’t purposely go on a Tuesday but thank God we did because that’s the day Nanzan was closed so I got a spot right up front! The waitress asked me how I heard about Menya because they have done absolutely no advertising. Boy are they right. You can barely find the restaurant on Yelp but that is how I heard about it so I gave Yelp the credit. The invite only opening made it so that they are not featured on the front page of Yelp and hides them a bit in the new openings section of Yelp. Okay, I’m not sure why I shared all this. Let’s move onto the food.

150718-03Here’s the condiments on your table: gari (red ginger), minced garlic, black pepper, a vinegar type sauce and tempura chips mixed with chili powder (if you want more spice!).

150718-04

Kakuni Tonkotsu Musashi Ramen – $12.50

150718-05

150718-06The Musashi version means you get all the toppings on your ramen. Will you take a look at that char siu? Doesn’t it look DELICIOUS? Well, it was. I’m sure it’s terrible for you but who cares…can you believe this one was mine? I didn’t go for the spicy one! That’s crazy but I wanted to try their original ramen to give a good critique. The soup did not have as deep of a flavor as I would have liked. There was just nothing special about this ramen that justified the cost or trouble to come here. I really hope they work on their soup broth.

150718-07

Kakuni Spicy Musashi Ramen (Large Noodle Size) – $12.50 + $1

150718-08This was Connie’s bowl. I think if I came here again, I would do the Large size noodles too. The regular portion of noodles is kind of small. She thought this was fine but enjoyed the ramen she had at other places more than here. It all comes back to the broth.

150718-09Can’t post this ramen without giving you a proper shot of the egg. They do a good job with their egg, that’s for sure.

150718-10

150718-11

Garlic Shrimp – $5

They didn’t have gyoza so I had to try their garlic shrimp. It was pretty good, I liked that I could just chew on the whole shrimp, shell and all. I thought the shrimp was good but the sauce tasted a bit weird. I wouldn’t get it again.

Japan 2015 Day 7 – Tsukiji and Akihabara

First things first, I had to take Kristian to Tsukiji. You just gotta. We tried to stay within the Yamanote line so we got off at the closest station and had to walk over to Tsukiji. It was quite a walk but I don’t mind walking long distances in cold weather. In fact, I love it.

150625-01

150625-02After the walk that felt like forever, we finally got to Tsukiji. The last time I came to Tsukji, I didn’t even eat sushi. Funny yeah? This time, we had to eat sushi! Sushi Dai is the one that has a super long line. Like wrapped around different buildings type of line, hours of wait kind of line. We didn’t exactly want to stand in line for hours so we settled for second best, Daiwa Sushi. Don’t get us wrong, this place is busy too. I think we wait for about an hour. It was uncomfortable and the sushi bar was TIGHT. Like super tight. Kristian was nice enough to give me the seat against the wall, thank god.

150625-03

150625-04My view for an hour

150625-05

150625-06All tourists like us get the omakase. It was a good choice. It’s so rushed and I hate to say it, commercial there. Just didn’t feel like a great experience. I rather go to a hole in the wall versus a super popular place.

150625-07

150625-08I should have waited for all the sushi to come out. But I felt like I hate to eat thinks quickly. This place was also kind of dirty compared to other Japan dining establishments…anyhow, there isn’t much else to do at Tsukiji so we decided to head out to Akihabara afterwards. Akihabara is known as the Electric City, they have all the electronics, games, cell phones, etc. you need.

150625-09

150625-10Gosh, my feet were hurting again this day. We went around but I wasn’t planning on buying much. I regret it now, I wish I looked into buying an original nintendo. Ah, I probably would have played it once and stopped. We went to a store called Labi and that store is levels upon levels! I have never seen so much cell phone cases in my life and yet somehow, I never bought one! Crazy huh? Maybe I wasn’t in the mood.

After a whole bunch of walking around, we headed to the local McDonald’s for an afternoon treat. Just a small snack.

150625-11

150625-12

I think Japan is the only place that has teriyaki burgers other than Hawaii yeah?

150625-13STRAWBERRY PIE. I REPEAT, STRAWBERY PIE. Sorry, it is so good. I wish I could have another one. I did have another one during this trip, it was that good. Kristian bought a Japanese PS Vita, how fun! Then we decided to pick up dinner from the grocery store across the street from our apartment. I gotta say, we were hitting up convenience stores before this night and discovered this grocery store way too late! Their prices were great and they had great variety. They had a salmon nigiri set for like 3 bucks, great quality too! Ahh…I miss Japan food.

150625-14

I don’t usually post pictures of my brothers here but since this is super old, why not. I just wanted to wish my brother Jensen a happy 8th birthday! I hope you’re having a great time in China!

Recipe: Black Bean Noodles (Jjajangmyun)

I hope Honolulu Aunty gets a chance to read this post! I know you mentioned liking these noodles so I wanted to show how easy it is to make at home! Recipe credits goes to Maangchi completely! Enjoy the pictures, I tend to put step by step pictures.

150622-01

Looks good ah? Restaurant style!

150622-02Black Bean Paste, no substitutions!

150622-03Gotta get the noodles made for jjajang, it makes a difference.

150622-04Korean Radish (Daikon), Onion, Zucchini and Pork Belly.

150622-05Chop the pork up – I think I used about 4 slices for this recipe.

150622-06Korean Radish (daikon)

150622-07Zucchini

150622-08Onions

150622-09Fry up the bacon until they are crispy, then drain most of the oil away. I learned that I don’t care for the hard bits of pork in my jajangmyun so if I make this again, I’ll leave the pork out. That would make this dish vegetarian!

150622-10Then you start adding veggies to cook, you should add the vegetables according to how long it takes to cook down. I added the Korean radish first. Stir-fried for about 2 minutes and then added…

150622-11Zucchini! Another 2 minutes…

150622-12Onions! And yes, there is no garlic in this dish. Shocking right? But if you have had these noodles, you’ll know that the flavor is very mild.

150622-13Black Bean Paste!

150622-14

Add water and let it simmer on medium heat.

150622-15After about 10 minutes, make the potato starch slurry and add it to the sauce. Simmer it a few minutes more to cook out the starch, look at how shiny the sauce gets! Once it’s about done, add sesame oil.

150622-16Noodles ready to be drenched in the sauce…

150622-17No matter what root vegetables you add, it’ll all look black…lol.

150622-18Delicious! Ahhh…so good. I hope you get to try it!

Lucky Belly – Chinatown, HI

I got to get this story out before I start the post. I was so shaken this morning because an elderly man almost hit my car. I was driving straight on a road that had two lanes going in both directions. Suddenly as I’m driving, this silver corolla comes out of nowhere into my lane about to hit me. He must have drove out of a lot from the other side, cut two lanes and trying to get into my lane. I had to swerve and hit my brakes HARD. I kept beeping him and he didn’t even seem to realize what he did and even hear my beeping. That really shook me up, I hate slamming on my brakes, I feel like I am breaking my car. Then as we’re driving, I change into the right lane and guess what? HE DECIDES TO LANE CHANGE INTO MY CAR AGAIN. I couldn’t believe it. I was hopping mad and I just kept beeping like a mad woman and he finally realizes it and goes back into his own lane. God, I just sped up like a devil to get away from this man.

I know this sounds terrible but I feel like when people get to a certain age, they shouldn’t be allowed to drive. I know I’ll want to drive as long as I can but he was making a lot of poor decisions and didn’t even hear my loud beeps. It was crazy and I still feel shaken up right now from what happened. Sorry for the rant, I am just super bothered.

My real post today is sharing a meal we had at Lucky Belly recently. We were celebrating Administrative Professionals Day and our secretary wanted to eat here so there we were! The food was good but I would recommend going during their dinner service. Their lunch menu is extremely limited. I have a funny story about this. So we had one person pay the entire bill and collected from everyone afterwards. As we were calculating afterwards, we realized we totally jipped them on tip. Felt terrible so I offered to drive out to give them the rest of the tip. Ummm…the guy who got received the tip had a very whatever reaction to it. Why do I allow my morals to dictate my actions?? Oh yeah, because it’s the right thing to do. Monotone reactions aside, I am fine because it was the right thing to do. Well, let’s get to the pictures!

150621-01Lucky Bowl ($9) – bean sprouts, soft egg, wakame, sesame seeds, green onion & ginger

150621-02

150621-03

150621-04Belly Bowl ($14) – Lucky bowl contents plus belly, bacon & sausage

I got the belly bowl. It was not great. I think the pork made the entire bowl too rich. The soup itself is already pretty strong so adding all this sausage, bacon AND pork belly is just too much. I wouldn’t get this one again.

150621-05

150621-06Karaage Chicken Sandwich ($11) – Served with jalapeño namasu slaw & cilantro mustard. What a deal! My coworker enjoyed it!

150621-07

150621-08Shrimp Gyoza ($11) – comes with edamame avocado puree & ponzu. This dish was okay, nothing special. The avocado puree is….interesting. I wouldn’t get it again.

150621-09

150621-10Pork Belly Bao ($9) – comes with sake hoisin & pickled cucumber. I’m pretty sure $9 was only for two of them, our tables ordered two orders. This was good! Good buns which makes a big difference!

All in all, I think Lucky Belly is more for the young crowd after work. Definitely recommend coming for dinner over lunch. They also don’t take reservations for lunch so I suggest going right when they open if you have a big party. We came with our list of orders ready to go which they appreciated.

Japanese Biscuits for the Win

This picture comes with a story. During my first trip to Japan, we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. After we perused the top floor, my friend checked out the gift shop and purchased a package of biscuits. I’m not a fan of biscuits but she let me try one and my life changed. It was so delicious and I always remembered them. I also couldn’t find it afterwards during the trip. So for this trip, I had a mini mission in mind…to find those biscuits again. I randomly look for them here in Hawaii when I go to Nijiya but I never found them. Guess what? I found them! I saw it in a convenience store in Japan and picked it up…150618-01If I learned anything from my previous trips, I knew that when I find something – I have to buy it. There’s a chance I won’t find it again. Thankfully I did, because I really didn’t spot these cookies again during this trip! How do I explain the taste of these? They are both savory and sweet at the same time. Perfect amount of saltiness while maintaining the sweetness of a biscuit, they are toasted and aren’t too hard or soft. I mean, how can a person really sell biscuits? Just buy a pack if you see them and try it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Japan 2015 Day 6 – Food!

No breakfast today. But our dinner made up for that and for Shibuya! Lunch was a bit of a letdown. We didn’t know where to eat so we ended up in Tokyo Station and ate at an Italian Risotto place called Riso Canovietta, it was so junk. I’ll still share the pictures…

150617-01

150617-02

150617-03

150617-04This one was mine. Bacon with spinach and carbonara risotto I think. It was that memorable (not). It was bland and disappointing.

150617-05

150617-06

150617-07Tea time! Well more like coffee time for us. This was a nice little afternoon pick-up in the middle of shopping. A cute cafe in the middle of a very expensive mall, there were a lot of young housewives enjoying their afternoon tea. How lucky…this Kristian’s dessert. He enjoyed it!

We headed back to the apartment after the garden and shopping because we wanted to rest but mostly because we wanted our new wifi device. I know, we’re too reliant to the internet. We got to the apartment and the owner respected our privacy enough to hide it outside of the apartment in his gas closet thing…it was great. Older wifi unit but worked great. We were ecstatic. I don’t know about you but when I get back home after a long day, I don’t tend to head back out. This happened to us too. We finally decided to grab dinner across the street from our apartment. We found a super hole in the wall Chinese restaurant and decided to give them a try. Oh my god. It was such a great decision. By far my favorite restaurant of the trip, which is kind of sad but I don’t care. IT WAS GREAT. The waitress was an older lady and she was very nice to us (much needed after our previous day) and the food was delicious. Let me share…

150617-08Can they bring this place to Hawaii? Please?

150617-09

150617-10This dish is as simple as it looks. Scrambled eggs with edamame and shrimp. The eggs were cooked perfectly, not runny or overcooked. The seasoning was probably just salt but it was perfectly seasoned, the edamame was a nice touch and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. It was delicious.

150617-11Chicken Karaage – delicious and tender. So good.

150617-12

150617-13Okay how Chinese is this? Lettuce in fried rice, I love it. The lettuce is cooked just to a quick wilt so it maintains its crunch. The seasoning was on point and really hit the spot.

150617-14

150617-15I AM DROOLING LOOKING AT THESE PICTURES. This is their tan tan men and it was so so so good. It was my favorite bowl of noodles in Japan. Perfectly seasoned broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Gosh, it was just a perfect bowl of comfort. I am half compelled to fly back out to Japan to eat this. Really.

150617-16Mapo Tofu – at first, we told her we didn’t order this. She nicely told us it came with the food we ordered. Was good! Spicy and delicious. What a perfect way to end day 6….

Japan 2015 Day 6 – Tokyo

Day 6. Yes, it was the day after the worst day in Japan. It didn’t start off great. Why? Our pocket wifi stopped working, it was super slow or it wouldn’t connect at all. The rare moment I was able to connect, I used it to contact our apartment owner to ask what could be done. We could NOT go around Japan without the use of wifi for our phones! Anyhow, our day was going to be pretty leisurely. Shibuya and Disney pooped us out. We headed to the Tokyo Station and I remembered how to get to the Imperial Palace East Gardens. It’s an awesome garden that is free! Who wouldn’t want to go? It was definitely a nice time for us and it was during this visit that the apartment owner offered to drop off a new pocket wifi unit for us to use! Wasn’t that awesome? Thank God because Kyoto was around the corner! This day was already way better than the day before.

This post is going to be mainly pictures of the garden, I’ll focus on the food in the next post!

150615-01The beautiful Tokyo Station

150615-02The rule is to take pictures of every sakura you see, I make and follow the rules.

150615-03

150615-04

150615-05I love walking through this city. It was all so clean and beautiful. Perfect weather. I also love tall buildings so it was all in all a great walk.

150615-06Here we are! Garden time!

150615-07Making our way to the entrance gate. They issue you a token to get into the garden which you return when you leave. Not sure why they do it, there is no charge to get into the garden.

150615-08

150615-09Just loved seeing the old pay phone here. Even the picture is vintage, this was located at a rest area in the garden.

150615-10

150615-11

150615-13

150615-12The garden was a great way to relieve our stress. Next post, food!

Japan 2015 Day 5 – Shibuya

The day has come. I am going to share my Shibuya experience now. This day felt like the culmination of all the bad things waiting to happen. First, I think we were both tired from the back to back Disney trips which included all day walking so we weren’t ready for this day. Well, at least I wasn’t ready. I also wore the wrong shoes which made for an even worse shopping trip, my feet hurt from early in the day which put me in a bad mood. No separate food post, all in one post – I apologize ahead of time for all the pics all at once.

150525-01

Breakfast was from a cute little bakery.

150525-02

150525-03I had a Pesto Shrimp with Cheese Toast with a cup of Iced Coffee. I like Japan’s iced coffee, they serve it with liquid sugar and cream, we should have more liquid sugar here to use.

After breakfast, we did some dollar shopping at Daiso and CanDo. You know me and dollar stores, now I had bags of stuff to lug around from the morning. Then we decided to grab some lunch and found a Genki Sushi. I just had to see what the Japan version had to offer! No regrets here. Very efficient service and everyone single seat has their own ordering screen. Their menu is way cheaper than ours (no spicy tuna, sorry guys) and very clean!

150525-09

150525-10

150525-11

150525-12

150525-13

150525-14

150525-15

150525-164 Different Preparations of Squid – delicious!

150525-17Uni – not good.

150525-18

150525-19Of course I always order the weird thing at each restaurant. They had a cheeseburger nigiri…lol. I mean the burger patty doesn’t even fit on the rice. It was delicious!

150525-04

150525-05Famous Hachiko Statue. I wish this statue was situated in a better place. I get that it needs to be near the subway station he used to wait at but I wish it wasn’t placed in the smoking area. Just doesn’t do him justice, you know? Get plenty people trying to take pictures…and plenty of smokers. I think you can imagine the chaos.

150525-06Don Quijote in Japan. Hahaha very crowded and very narrow aisles.

150525-07

150525-08Are these not the cutest?? They were selling these at Loft and I was SO tempted to buy one. But I knew I would never be able to put this together myself so I decided to save my money. I would buy this ready-made, for sure.

So here comes the worst part of the day. We had to grab dinner and I looked up various places on Yelp and decided on Ton-Chang. It took a while to find them because they are hidden in a big building upstairs but we finally did! We walked up the stairs and was greeted by a host in front behind this little counter. I asked if they had an English menu. They did. We got seated and there were only two ladies dining in the entire restaurant. They kept talking to us saying something but we didn’t quite get it, we finally understood that the chairs were barrels that opened up for our bags. Nifty.

So we sit down and start looking through the menu and they start setting up all the sides and the grill. We decide to order a pork set to share. Oh by the way, this is one of those Korean BBQ joints. As we’re waiting, I hear the wait staff talking to one another in Korean. So…the staff are all Korean people. She comes over and bends down in front of me and takes our order, speaking only in Japanese. Okay fine, we point to the set and figure that’s it. She then asks us a question which we both don’t understand. We both say we don’t understand and this girl doesn’t even try to help us understand. As a person who worked in customer service, I would always attempt to help a customer understand. She could have easily pointed to something in the ENGLISH menu to help us understand but she just kneeled there, staring at us. Her face was emotionless but rude, it’s so hard to explain. Finally she excuses herself and decides to help the other table to cook.

It’s funny because the things she says to us in Japanese are definitely in the polite format but with the rudest and coldest tone. As she’s helping the other table, I watched as a girl comes into the restaurant and returns something to the manager behind the counter (previously mentioned him as a host) and well, he’s Korean too because brada starts yelling AND swearing at her in Korean. Seriously. I couldn’t believe my eyes or ears. The girl looks taken aback by it but I think she might have been a worker, who knows. It was all so uncomfortable. Then the waitress comes back to our table and kneels down again and asks the same dang question again. Kneels there and stares at us as we say we don’t understand. I ask if anyone knows English. She makes an X with her arms and says no. What were our options then? I was STEAMING mad. I just felt like all her actions were so deliberate and since she refused to help us, we just left. She was completely fine with that. She turned off the stove and grabbed the food to put back (which I can only assume they would serve again). I don’t think I have ever wanted to slap someone as much as I did with her. If you sat there and experienced her purposefully rude behavior, you would never want to go there. The fact that they have an English version of their menu shows that they should have been able to service us. What is the point otherwise? God, that was the single most terrible restaurant experience I have ever had. So glad to write this one last time and get it over with. I did end up writing an e-mail to their company, no response, of course. So I would highly recommend NOT going there. Here’s the dinner I ended up with after a long terrible day.

150525-20Yes, cup noodle. Curry cup noodles and it was delicious. Even Japan’s cup noodle is premium, the cheese and meat look and taste fresh – not obviously dehydrated. Day 6 is coming up! Started up kind of junk but definitely brightened up afterwards! Have a good one folks.
