We were excited to go to Rinka for dinner…especially with a special dining credit on hand! You know me, can’t pass up a deal! I’ve been going to Rinka since they were at their old location but don’t come here as often as I’d like. They are now located in the same building as Whole Foods on Queen Street so there is ample parking. We went a little ham with the ordering (what’s new) but I really wanted to try some of the appetizers. When we come back next time, I think we’ll just stick to the teishoku and that’s it. Consider this post research for you folks. 🙂
Chicken Karaage | $12.75
Super hard to screw up this dish and I can safely say they made it well. I liked the little seasoning salt they served on the side of it!
Fried Tofu with 4 Kinds of Miso | $13.75
They explained the four types of miso when they served it to us but I forget already (sorry!). I was excited to try this dish, not quite sure why because while I like miso, it’s not like I LOVE miso. This dish was nice to try, nothing great so I wouldn’t order it again.
Nigiri Sushi Deluxe Set | $73.75
includes udon noodle (hot/cold), tempura, 2 small dishes, salad
The two small dishes (veggie sides) and salad. I wonder if the two small dishes are seasonal, pretty good veggie sides! A mixed veggie dish and a glazed sweet potato dish.
Hot Udon
Nice dish, I think I would go for cold next time. I’m actually surprised it’s not a choice between udon or soba. I would pick soba in a heartbeat. But this was good!
Tempura
Two big shrimp tempura with assorted veggie tempura. Super good, fried nice and crisp. What a deal!
Assorted Nigiri
The set isn’t cheap but look at all that you get! I think it is a super good deal for what you get. Hmm…I would definitely get this set again! Be sure to make a reservation on Resy, I wouldn’t just walk in.
